One of the largest Fish Processing and Freezing Projects in Angola is currently underway, fully developed by Novanor.

The fish will be caught using four 23.90-meter purse seiner vessels and two 14.90-meter multipurpose vessels, supported by a 5,000 m² industrial unit built on a plot of approximately 30,000 m².

The freezing of pelagic fish is carried out using the most advanced technology to ensure premium quality, through 3 Automatic Spiral Freezing Tunnels with a capacity of over 200 tons per day. This facility will also have the capability to process, preserve, and freeze all types of large fish, with a frozen fish storage capacity of over 1,000 tons.

This project represents the continuation of Angolan investment in the fisheries sector, a key area for the national economy and food security, given that fish is the main source of protein produced in Angola and plays a vital role in the population’s nutrition. Designed with the most modern and technologically advanced equipment and processes, it ensures continuous year-round production thanks to its versatile capacity to process both pelagic and demersal species. It thus contributes to the advancement of national business development policies, particularly the PRODESI program.

The Industrial Unit is expected to create 203 direct and permanent jobs, of which 197 will be filled by local workers. This will provide income for over 700 people, based on an average of 4 individuals per household, giving this investment significant downstream effects due to its impact on the regional economy.
