Thera Produtos Farmacêuticos has laid the foundation stone for its new factory, aiming to boost the production of essential medicines in Angola, including infusion solutions, serums, tablets, antimalarials, and antiretrovirals. The facility, located in the Luanda Special Economic Zone, aims to strengthen Angola’s National Health System and reduce dependence on imports.
Among the medicines to be produced are analgesics, antimalarials, anti-HIV, antituberculosis drugs, dietary supplements, and others, with a focus on therapeutic areas that are priorities for the National Health System.
The project aims to reduce dependence on imports and position Angola as a regional pharmaceutical hub, with the potential to export medicines to Europe and other African countries.
