Novanor has started the refurbishment and upgrading works of the cold storage facilities at the Morro Bento logistics hub, in Luanda, for the client ACD. The intervention includes the repair of critical points in the existing industrial refrigeration system, with the aim of restoring its full operational capacity and ensuring the system’s long-term compliance and reliability.
The scope of the works includes the complete replacement of the existing steel piping for ammonia circulation, as well as the corresponding thermal insulation and cladding, together with the refurbishment of the external surface of the ceiling panels in the areas where deterioration has occurred.
Our works also include a series of repairs to the existing facilities, namely the refurbishment of the insulated doors — a critical element for energy efficiency and temperature maintenance — and the replacement of several faulty components, with these operations collectively ensuring improved performance of the refrigeration system.
It should be noted that any intervention in an ammonia refrigeration system requires specialized technical expertise, taking into account the characteristics of this refrigerant fluid and the safety requirements associated with its handling.
The execution of this project reinforces Novanor’s technical expertise in the field of industrial refrigeration in Angola, consolidating its position as a leading partner for the rehabilitation of logistics and food infrastructure projects.
