The Pescaria Baía Fish was inaugurated on 8 June, in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources of Angola, Carmen do Sacramento Neto dos Santos, which also saw the attendance of the Governor of the Province of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Júnior. The inaugural event marked a milestone for Angola’s fishing sector, signalling the full operational launch of one of the most modern industrial fish freezing and preservation facilities in the country.

Designed and built by Novanor to the highest international technological standards, the facility has a capacity to freeze 160 tonnes of fish per day, complemented by two cold storage chambers with a combined capacity of 600 tonnes. The entire infrastructure was engineered to ensure the highest product quality throughout the cold chain, from reception through to dispatch.

Beyond its direct impact on the region’s food supply chain, the project represents a significant contribution to local job creation, with 200 direct positions generated by the facility’s operation.
